I personally really like this place, but a few of my coworkers weren't too convinced. Their red ramen is delicious but not super spicy. Ramen flavor and style is a little more simple but it does the trick and fills ya up!

Kushi Tsuru’s spicy red ramen (extra spicy) is a must-try! The tonkatsu base is rich, creamy, and full of flavor the perfect comfort bowl. We find the regular spicy a bit mild, so extra spicy is the way to go. The tempura-fried gyoza are another standout crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and not too heavy. Always a satisfying meal!

I ordered Hakata White Ramen and Red Hakata Ramen. Both were excellent. Portions are large, about 5lbs each (plenty noodles, delicious soup) but you should definitely order extra meat. I ordered double the meat, for 4 slices total. For similar experience and price, you would have to drive 30minutes north, so if you factor in your time and gas money, you can definitely afford $3 for an extra portion of meat. 5 stars for me. I'm glad that Morgan Hill finally has a place where I can order Japanese soup

I would not bring a group more than 4 people as it's pretty small. The takoyaki was great, very generous with the flakes. The karaage was a bit overcooked so it was tougher than I'd like. Their choice of bowls makes it look like there's barely any food, but it's actually pretty deep so I think it's the same amount compared to other ramen places. Reminds me of a street Cafe in Japan. The waitress was very nice. The donburi was fine, the curry was fine, the ramen was great.

Ordered three different types of donburi. They're legit. They taste so good and also have pretty good portions. It's a little bit on the expensive side but considering it's in Morgan Hill, I think it's worth it. Probably the best Japanese food that you can get in the area.

They just opened so people need to have some patience. The portions are relatively smaller than other ramen places, less meat too like only 2 slices of pork. Broth is well-seasoned. Just wish they had more ramen selection or oils (black garlic oil please!) Hopefully they’ll expand. Liked the katsu-don a lot. I wouldn’t say it’s a restaurant where I’d bring a group of friends to socialize - definitely more of a “I’m craving a quick bite before work” vibe. Very small joint next to the Poke place. However, for the convenience of not having to drive 15+ miles for ramen, the food’s pretty good. I’ve also gotten doordash delivery from them before and I appreciate the packaging.

Nestled in the heart of Morgan Hill, Kushi Tsuru Morgan Hill offers a comforting and authentic Japanese dining experience that ramen lovers have long awaited. This cozy spot at 233 W Main Ave A brings the rich flavors of traditional ramen bowls with a contemporary touch, making it a standout on the local food scene.

Their red ramen, especially the extra spicy version, is a highlight that captures the essence of a rich tonkotsu broth—creamy, flavorful, and robust without being overwhelming. The balance here is notable; the spice accentuates rather than overwhelms, creating a deeply satisfying bowl perfect for those craving both heat and heartiness. For newcomers or those who prefer milder tastes, the standard spicy ramen offers a gentler yet no less authentic flavor profile.

Portion sizes are generous, with bowls that appear modest but reveal depth and volume upon closer look—akin to the intimate street-side cafes of Japan. This clever presentation delivers hearty, soul-warming meals without sacrificing quality or satisfaction. The option to add extra meat, as recommended by regulars, ensures a protein-rich experience that enhances the filling nature of each dish.

Beyond ramen, Kushi Tsuru Morgan Hill shines with its expertly crafted sides. The tempura-fried gyoza stand out with a delicate crisp exterior and juicy interior, creating a perfect harmony of textures. Meanwhile, the takoyaki is served with an abundance of flakes and carries that iconic street food charm. Although some items like karaage can vary in preparation, the overall quality remains consistently high.

The intimate setting, best suited for small groups, enhances the personal, authentic vibe of the restaurant. The friendly service adds warmth, making each visit inviting and comfortable—a welcome retreat for anyone seeking genuine Japanese comfort food in the Morgan Hill area.

In sum, Kushi Tsuru Morgan Hill is a gem that fills a niche for quality ramen and Japanese dishes locally. It balances hearty flavors, generous portions, and an authentic ambiance, making it a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts and anyone looking to enjoy a well-crafted Japanese meal without the need to travel far.
